The Lausitzer FEM symposium

In 1999 the Lausitzer FEM symposium was accomplished for the first time at the FH Lausitz. Since then it has become a firm date in the meeting calendar of the university.

The main goal of the symposium is to create a link(age) between the FH Lausitz and the professional practice in the area of the Finite Elements Method (FEM) and to present the broad area of activities of civil engineers educated in Cottbus to an interested public. They do not only compute buildings but for example also cars, implants or cranes.

In 2002 the BTU Cottbus joined the FEM symposium and thereby the first successful co-operation of the two Cottbuser universities in the area of civil engineering was established.
Since 1999 the meeting has registered constantly increasing numbers of participants and has been very well received particularly among students and industrial representatives.
